Free estate-planning seminars offered
An up-to-date will or estate plan provides clear instructions for the distribution of property, and can protect assets from high federal taxes. Susan Behlke Foley, a prominent Anchorage attorney, will present free seminars on developing wills and estate plans this October in Seward and Moose Pass. Community members interested in learning more about their own estate planning can attend one of the following seminars:
• Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in the AVTEC Auditorium, 519 Fourth, second floor
• Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Seward Senior Center, 336 Third;
• Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. at the Moose Pass Community Hall, at Mile 29.5 Seward Highway.
The seminar, “Estate Planning: Providing for Your Family and Your Community,” is sponsored by the Seward Community Foundation, an affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation. Susan Behlke Foley is a shareholder in the Anchorage law firm of Foley & Foley. A third-generation Alaskan, Foley began practicing law in her hometown of Fairbanks and moved to Anchorage in 1981. She is a member and past president of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council, and chairs the board of directors of The Alaska Community Foundation.
