Seward celebrates art and music

Heidi Zemach | For The LOG
Dancers do the Luna Dance at last year’s arts festival.
The Seward Music and Arts Festival is set for this weekend with musicians and performers from all over the state along with artisan booths and food vendors. The festival begins this year on Friday, Sept. 28 and wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 30. The event is an exciting capstone to the summer that appeals to Alaskans and remaining travelers alike.
The festival remains committed to youth involvement, education, and creative inspiration, as well as a low environmental impact philosophy. The Seward Arts Council promotes a family friendly festival with children’s activities and artist projects throughout the weekend, including The Seward Mural Society’s Community Mural Project.
The festival is at the Alaska Railroad Cruise Ship Terminal Dock Building — a heated indoor venue. Visitors will enjoy a full food court, beer garden and art show in addition to over 20 live musical acts and dance performances.
