Candidate forum set

A Meet the Candidates Forum for Seward City Council and Kenai Peninsula Borough candidates is planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in City Council Chambers. The public is invited to the Seward Chamber of Commerce sponsored event. Citizens can also phone in questions to 224-4043.

KPB voter info booklet arrives

The Voter Information booklet for the Kenai Peninsula Borough Regular Municipal Election has been delivered to post office boxes and residences in the borough. The booklet contains information on borough and city items that will be on the Oct. 2 ballot, as well as sample ballots and information about voting.

City/Boro in-person absentee voting available

In-person absentee voting for the Oct. 2 city and borough election is underway. East Peninsula voters can cast their absentee ballot at the Seward City Clerk’s office, 410 Adams. For information call 224-4045.

The polling location for Seward and Lowell Point in the Oct. 2 election is the KM Rae Building at Seward Marine Center, 125 Third. Those who need assistance with voting can contact the city clerk.

Register deadline for general election approaches

Citizens can register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election until Oct. 7. The Seward City Clerk will register voters through Oct. 5 and registration is available online at www.elections.alaska.gov. To register a form of identification is required.
