After School Program - Every day after school. Call 224-5472 for information.

Middle School Dance - 7:30-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Fee: $5.

First Friday Fun - Halloween Masque: 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5. Prizes for costumes. Fifth and sixth graders are invited to dance, play games and hang out with friends. Fee: $4 for those in costume, $5 without costume.

Middle School Halloween Masque - 7:30-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Prizes for costumes. Fee: $4 for those in costume, $5 without costume.

High School Halloween Masque - 9 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Oct. 27. Prizes for costumes. Fee: $4 for those in costume, $5 without costume.

Adult League Basketball - Registration for adult league basketball is underway. League games are Tuesday and Thursday nights from Oct. 9 through Dec. 5 at AVTEC gym. Teams can save money by registering early and registration packets are available from Sports and Rec. Participants must be 18 or older. Officials are needed for the league. Officials work on a paid contract and ASAA certification results in higher pay. For information contact 224-4054 or sprd@cityofseward.net.

Volleyball Competitive League - Fall league volleyball begins Sept. 19 and runs through Dec. 5. Matches are at Seward High School gym. The league is open to people over 16 (those under 18 need parental consent). Teams can save money by registering early and registration packets are available from Sports and Rec. Those interested in playing but without a team, are encouraged to contact SPRD to get hooked up with a team. Officials are needed for the league. BBQ Volleyball League - The fall BBQ league BBQ league is designed to bring together friends, co-workers and neighbors to play volleyball without a referee but with plenty of fun. League play is on Monday nights from Oct. 17 to Dec. 12. People 16 and older are welcomed. Call SPRD to form a team or to join a current team. Call 224-4054 or email sprd@cityofseward.net.

Racquetball League - Racquetball veterans and beginners alike are welcomed to join SPRD’s Racquetball League. The league will run Monday (Gold - more experienced) and Friday (Silver - beginner) nights, starting at 5 p.m. from Oct 12 to Dec. 3. SPRD can provide equipment but players are encouraged to bring their own. Gearbox racquets and goggles are on sale at Sports and Rec. Glacier Family Medicine Pumpkin Prowl - 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, Forest Acres Park. For ages 9 and under. Search for mini pumpkins, roast marshmallows and sip hot cocoa. The free event for the youth is sponsored by Glacier Family Medicine, Seward Parks and Recreation and TYC Councils.

Family Masquerade Ball - 8th Annual Family Masquerade Ball, sponsored by Seward Parks and Rec is 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Seward Resort. Spooktacular prizes. Costume conest begins at 8 p.m. Fee: $3 for those in costume, $4 without costume, $10 per family. The event is sponsored by Seward Resort, Polar Bear Jumpoff Festival and SPRD.

Seward’s Annual Halloween Carnival - Bigger and better than ever with contests, games and food for everyone.. 6-9 p.m ., Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Dale Lindsey Railroad Terminal. Applications for booths may be picked up at the SPRD office in the AVTEC’s Student Services Center or at the high school. For information contact Shari Adelmann at 224-4054.
