Aug. 12

23:37 - Verbal warning for headlight out issued at the airport.

Aug. 13

01:17 - Individual reported a loud party at AVTEC First Lake Facility. Officer responded and advised that the people were leaving the area.

02:30 - Individual reported that a white station wagon was swerving over the lane traveling northbound past Safeway. Officer found vehicle at Bear Lake Road and advised to be driving OK.

03:21 - Warning issued for improper parking in the 200 block of Fourth.

06:36 - Verbal warning for parking light issued at Dimond and Sea Lion.

06:40 - Verbal warning for proof of insurance and parking lights issued at Safeway.

07:45 - Warning for improper parking issued at Alaska Railroad dock.

10:26 - Citations for passing in a no-passing zone and failure to carry proof of insurance issued to Charles Robinson on Seward Highway by Essential One.

10:40 - Caller from New York advised that she owns a lot on Oak, and had received information that someone had been cutting vegetation and was storing items on her property. Officer responded and advised that he could not tell where one lot ends and the next begins. Owner was advised and would have her father check.

11:10 - 911 misdial.

14:50 - Individual turned in to SPD a small cloth beaded purse containing ID for a female from New Jersey that she found in the weeds at Lowell Point.

17:33 - Individual reported people standing around someone on the ground on the bike path by Red’s Burgers.

18:16 - SAST requested Moose Pass Fire and SVAC respond to Trail Lake at Mile 32 Seward Highway for an overturned canoe. One person was confirmed to be in the water. Moose Pass Fire reported two subjects were pulled from the water after 40 minutes. Another was out and on shore.

18:30 - Individual from American Legion requested that officer check on a patron who walked outside and laid down on the south side of the building. Officer contacted the subject and called a cab.

18:49 - SPD officer reported a bus was parked on the south side of city hall so that the stop sign was not visible to other vehicles. The bus was leaving as an officer approached.

19:40 - SAST arrested Brandon McQuaid for probation violation at Trail Lake, Mile 32 Seward Highway.

2014 - Earthquake, preliminary magnitude of 7.3, in the Sea of Okhotsk, northwest Pacific Ocean at a depth of 582 kilometers. No tsunami was expected.

21:59 - Citation for speed issued to Monica Young at Seward Highway and Sea Lion.

22:42 - Verbal warning for headlight requirements issued at Mile 1.5 Seward Highway.

Aug. 14

04:07 - Caller requested an officer to Pacific Park Apartments for report of people yelling. Officer responded. Reporting party called back and stated two males left in a silver car, unknown plate, and appeared intoxicated. Officer made contact with the subject and gave her a disorderly conduct warning.

05:47 - Verbal warning for speed issued at NAPA.

06:05 - Individual reported a peeping tom at Resurrection Boulevard. Reporting party described the suspect as a male, approximately 5’10”, wearing a black hoody and glasses. Officer responded.

08:49 - 911 pocket dial.

09:13 - SVFD issued a burn permit to Alaska Waste at 3200 Dimond for the day only.

10:12 - 911 caller requested an ambulance to the Breeze Inn Restaurant for a male with possible heart problems.

15:20 - Alaska State Trooper arrested Robert Hass for Assault IV DV and remanded him to SCJ.

15:50 - Verbal warning for speed issued in the 400 block of Fourth.

19:29 - 911 misdial.

20:26 - 911 caller reported a male subject having a seizure after a fall at Mile 35 Seward Highway. Fire and medics responded. Male was transported to the hospital.

21:30 - Individual reported that a cab driver was speeding and almost clipped his vehicle when she turned off Third onto Washington.

Aug. 15

06:36 - Individual reported a white horse was walking by itself up on Oak toward Mountain Haven.

09:05 - SVFD advised that Amerigas would be burning off propane around 10:00.

10:05 - Four 911 callers reported that a tank at Amerigas was on fire.

10:11 - Individual reported that a green truck was swerving all over the road passing Essential One and headed south. Officer was unable to locate.

13:18 - SAST advised that there was a bronze Ford Ranger headed south from Moose Pass.

13:56 - Individual from the Parking Department reported what he believed to have been a gun shot near the south harbor.

14:47 - 911 misdial.

14:57 - AST trooper arrested Daniel Watters for DUI at Mile 19.5 and remanded him to SCJ.

15:30 - SPD officer assisted AST trooper in the SCJ with his DUI data master operations.

17:13 - Verbal warning for erratic driving issued near the Safeway parking lot.

19:14 - Verbal warning for speed issued at Seward Highway and Coolidge.

19:44 - Verbal warning for speed issued at Third and D.

19:50 - A motorist reported to a SPD officer that a maroon SUV was driving erratically and was last seen near the AVTEC on Leirer Road. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

21:33 - Individual reported that there was an intoxicated male and female on Fourth near AVTEC. The male was urinating in plain view on the sidewalk. The reporting party called back a few minutes later and said the couple was then at Third and Monroe, and were yelling at each other. Officer was unable to locate the couple.

22:30 - Individual reported that a black four-door Chevy had passed her using the turning lane southbound on Third near Monroe, and was driving recklessly. He was last seen having turned around and heading southbound on Third. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

23:53 - Verbal warning for missing headlight issued on Seward Highway near Coolidge.

Aug. 16

00:19 - Citation for speed issued to Doorey Chung at Third and A.

08:04 - Individual reported that a gold/copper Dodge towing a boat almost ran him off the road at Mile 10 Seward Highway. Officer located the subject and gave him a verbal warning for his driving.

11:22 - SVFD advised that Engine 2 would be out of service for maintenance.

11:40 - 911 caller, a juvenile, could not find anyone in his house and was scared. Officer contacted the reporting party. Reporting party’s uncle came home and all was OK.

13:05 - Individual took a found knife into SPD.

17:04 - 911 open line call.

17:18 - Verbal warning for passing on the right issued at Third and Jefferson.

17:30 - Officer requested that a case be issued for an investigation regarding sex offender registry to determine if a reported sex offender was in the Seward area and whether he had properly registered.

18:15 - Caller reported that there was an intoxicated male at Oriental Garden that she believed was underage. Officer contacted Daniel German with PBT .144. German issued a citation for MCA and his father agreed to come and take care of him.

22:40 - Individual went into SPD to speak with an officer about a domestic situation between he and his girlfriend. Officer went outside to speak with the reporting party. His girlfriend, Jessica Hull, arrested for DV Assault IV and she walked down to SCJ.

Aug. 17

00:06 - Caller from Yukon Bar requested officer assistance with males refusing to leave. Officers contacted Pawel Piotrowski and Maria Karkuszewska. Both were advised they were trespassed from all the bars for the remainder of the night.

01:02 - Individual reported that a large vessel on T-dock had their crab lights on and it was obstructing visibility. Harbor on call notified.

02:16 - Monica Gochenauer arrested for DUI at about Mile 3.5 Seward Highway. She was transported to SCJ. Gochenauer also issued citations for passing in no passing lane, failure to carry proof of insurance and refusal to submit a breath test.

02:46 - Cruise ship Millennium reported that the hazardous crab lights were still lit on the large vessel at T-dock and obstructing visibility. Harbor on call notified again.

04:01 - Cruise ship Millennium radioed to report the hazardous crab lights were still lit on the large vessel at T-dock and obstructing visibility. Harbormaster notified.

04:22 - Harbormaster reported that the lights are now out on the vessel at T-dock.

08:34 - Verbal warning for speed issued at Third and B.

08:49 - Verbal warning for brake light out issued at at Seward and South Harbor.

09:16 - Citation for failure to carry proof of insurance issued to Kassi Fetters at Seward Highway and Sea Lion. Verbal warnings also issued for passing in a no passing zone, studded tires and for failure to carry driver’s license.

11:28 - 911 non-emergency call to get the admin line phone number. Non-emergency number given.

11:33 - Individual reported a speeding vehicle in the center lane of the Seward Highway past Safeway and was parked in front of Chinook’s. Officer found vehicle parked in Ray’s parking lot, but was unable to locate driver.

13:48 - Verbal warning for passing in a no passing zone issued at Seward Highway and Sea Lion.

13:59 - Verbal warnings issued for expired registration and fender flare requirements at Seward Highway and Hemlock.

14:17 - Summons issued to Michelle Fillingim for no valid operator’s license. Fillingim issued citations for failure to wear safety belt and failure to carry proof of insurance. Fillingim also given verbal warnings for no front bumper and failure to carry registration.

14:24 - 911 abandoned call.

15:01 - Parking warning for parking against the flow of traffic left on a vehicle next to the Catholic Church on Fifth.

16:30 - Caller reported that a City of Seward-owned van was in a minor accident at First Lake parking area behind the AVTEC building. Officer contacted both drivers and advised that there was minor damage and that he took photographs.

18:42 - Citation for parking where prohibited issued to a Alaska Sales And Service vehicle while parked on Fourth across from Christo’s Restaurant.

18:46 - Individual spoke with an officer to request that Wyatt Williams be trespassed from her residence indefinitely.

18:42 - Citation for parking where prohibited issued to Michael Dagon at Fourth and Washington.

20:07 - Caller reported that a maroon Toyota Camry had failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Third and Van Buren. It almost hit her while she was walking. She advised that she had just seen the vehicle in the area of the high school. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

21:15 - Individual requested that an officer respond to Bear Mountain Apartments to speak with a male who was harassing her kids. Officer responded.
