Seward resident, Regina Ann Paul, 50, died in Seward on Aug. 2, 2012 due to natural causes.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Fifth. An additional Rosary Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10.
Regina was born on Aug. 14, 1961 in Missoula, Mont. and moved to Alaska in June of 1967. She received her degree in nursing at the University of Anchorage Alaska, and soon after began working for Providence Medical Center in Anchorage as well as Seward. She worked as a nurse for 25 years with Providence. Besides her work she enjoyed her time sea kayaking, riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, fishing and, of course, gardening.
Her family wrote that, “Her compassion for all of those who met her — family, friends and patients — knew no bounds.” Another friend also wrote about Regina and herself, “Humility, charity and love…along with a lot of true grit and incredible strength…and humor, wit and unexpected surprises that often made me, laugh out loud.”
Regina was preceded in death by her father, Harold T. Wright.
She is survived by her husband Clinton Paul of Seward; their daughter Kali Filbert of Anchorage; their son Ian Filbert of Anchorage; mother Ann Wright of Seward; her two sisters, Tina Wright of Bremerton, Wash .; Robin Fuller of Bremerton, Wash .; and her brother Tulla Wright of Wasilla. Regina also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations in Regina’s name be sent to, the Friends of Sarnelli House, P.O. Box 785 Fond du Lac, WI 54936-0785.
