ASLC SeaFest Weekend
SeaFest Weekend at Alaska SeaLife Center is Aug. 3-5 and features activities for the whole family. The main event is the 5K walk/run on Saturday, and also planned are live music, a talk on marine debris, photos with Tuffy the Puffin, a scavenger hunt, a harbor seal chat and an interpretive dive in bird habitat.
Rescue Walk/Run
The 14th Annual 5K Wildlife Rescue Walk/Run to support the ASLC Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Program takes place on Saturday, Aug. 4 in Seward.
The walk/run starts at ASLC at Fourth and Railway. Walkers begin at 11:15 a.m. and runners at noon. Early registration is $25 and $20 for participants 15 and under. Early registration is at www.signmeup.com/85074. Race day registration is $35 and $30. Race day registration is from 9:30-11:30 in the ASLC lobby. All runners and walkers recive a limited edition T-shirt.
People can also participate as a virtual runner to show show support for the the center’s rehabilitation program. Virtual runners receive a pair of exclusive socks in the mail with their $30 entry fee. Registration is online at www.signmeup.com/85075.
All participants in the 5K and virtual runners registered by Aug. 31 are eligible for a prize drawing for 50,000 Alaska Airlines miles compliments of GCI.
