Music and arts fest on again for 2012

The Seward Music and Arts Festival has announced another musical extravaganza in the fall of 2012, with musicians and performers from all over the state along with artisan booths and food vendors. The festival begins this year on Friday, Sept. 28 and wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 30.

The festival remains committed to youth involvement, education and creative inspiration, as well as a low environmental impact philosophy. The Seward Arts Council promotes a family-friendly festival with children’s activities and artist projects throughout the weekend, including The Seward Mural Society’s Community mural project.

The festival is at the Alaska Railroad Cruise Ship Terminal, a heated indoor venue. Visitors will enjoy a full food court, beer garden and art show, in addition to over 20 live musical acts and dance performances. Musicians already slated to perform include Orion Donicht, Super Saturated Sugar Strings, Tammy Whynot and the Divorcees, The Avery Wolves, Feeding Frenzy, Historian, Hawkins Wright, Rebecca File, Melissa Mitchell with Spiff and Rik, Nervis Rex, with more to come.

The festival’s website is www.sewardfestival.com.
