City election set for Oct. 2

The City of Seward will elect three council members in the Oct. 2 municipal election.

To run for the council positions a candidate must be a qualified voter and have lived in the Seward city limits for one year prior to Aug. 15.

The filing period to run in the election is Aug. 1-15. Candidates can pick up filing packets at the Seward City Clerk’s office in city hall beginning July 25. The clerk’s office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each of the at-large seats are for two-year terms.

The three seats to be elected are now held by Jean Bardarson, Marianna Keil and Ristine Casagranda.
