Police LOG — June 14, 2012

 


June 25

09:32 - Individual reported a vehicle parked, possibly over the weekend, at First Lake with three dogs in it. Officer contacted the reporting party and advised them that it was private property. Officer and ACO recovered all dogs and placed them in the shelter.

09:46 - Seward Fisheries advised that they would do a fire drill at 10:00.

12:29 - 911 misdial from 2500 block of Cedar. Person was calling 411 and just misdialed. All was OK.

12:49 - Low tank alarm at Lowell Canyon. Waste/Water notified.

14:16 - 911 abandoned call from Vinewood Lane. Message left on call back.

15:48 - Individual reported that two 4-wheelers on Lowell Point Road were headed toward town.

18:45 - Individual reported a stolen vehicle.

20:32 - Individual called to report a alarm at Icicle cook house on Leirer Road. Night watchmen phoned to say it was a false alarm.

21:07 - Warning issued to a vehicle that was parked by Seward Alehouse with 4 feet sticking out into the roadway.

21:29 - Individual reported a black dog in the campgrounds across from the ball field.

June 26

02:14 - Ambulance requested to Kimberly Court for a female who was ill. Her throat was swollen and she was shaky, but stable. SVAC and SVFD responded.

06:47 - Parking warning for Parking Against The Flow Of Traffic placed on a vehicle at Fifth and Adams.

08:27 - Fire officer issued a burn permit to Alaska Waste, 3200 Dimond Street, for the day and the next day with the condition that if high wind starts, they must stop burning.

08:30 - SCCC would be burning behind the prison during the day. SCCC notified SVFD.

08:58 - Individual advised that he would be working on Polar Seafoods fire alarm system during the day, and that he would advise when done.

10:24 - PSMC advised that the they would do a fire drill at 10:28.

12:31 - PSMC requested a flight crew transport from the airport to the hospital and back.

12:31 - 911 open line call came in and unable to call back. Sounded like children’s TV show in the background.

13:20 - 911 abandoned call with busy signal on call back. Officer contacted subject at Pacific Park Apartments and all was OK.

14:47 - Individual reported a brown horse on Phoenix Road. Owner notified and would take care of it.

15:40 - Individual reported two males driving 4-wheelers in the mud pit at the SMIC yard.

15:55 - 911 misdial from Cook Inlet Region Inc. Dispatch spoke with clerk on ring back. Everything was fine.

17:31 - 911 misdial from Cook Inlet Region Inc. Dispatch spoke with clerk on right back. Everything was fine. She would speak with coworkers and have them be more careful.

19:00 - SAST called for transport from the Nunatek Tour Vessel for a female who had a seizure. She was alert, conscious and stable. Wanted medics to transport from E-Dock to hospital.

19:46 - 911 caller from the elevator at the Breeze in was stuck in the elevator. Front desk was notified.

20:39 - Caller reported the power was out on Primrose Spur Road.

21:04 - 911 misdial call came in. Dispatch spoke with subject on ring back who stated he was fine.

22:29 - Individual reported she lost her wallet with ID, possibly in the shower area.

22:50 - Caller reported that approximately seven youth were running through the campgrounds and taking things from sites.

23:42 - Caller reported that there were young people making noise at First Lake. Officer advised the group to quiet down.

June 27

10:04 - Verbal warning issued for Passing In A No Passing Zone just north of the Pit Bar.

11:00 - Dispatch called Wells Fargo to inquire about any money exchanges from English pounds to American dollars that had possibly occurred since the night before. Wells Fargo advised one was in progress now. Officers responded and contacted two subjects. Claire Abrams was charged with Theft Of Mislaid Property.

13:42 - Multiple reports about three dogs jumping in and out of traffic at Boulder Ball Field. Message left for ACO. Officer transported the dogs to the animal shelter.

14:15 - Individual reported a large white passenger bus parked in front of a fire hydrant next to Starbird Studios. Officer contacted driver and issued a verbal warning for Obstructing Traffic.

15:30 - Individual reported that her black Samsung Slider cell phone was lost or stolen from somewhere downtown.

17:37 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Fourth and B.

19:41 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Third and Madison.

20:01 - Officer was flagged down and informed that Northstar Trucking would be transporting large sections of the bridge at 04:00.

20:27 - Citation for Failure To Register Vehicle issued to Tanya Carlsen while parked in front of First National Bank Alaska.

20:43 - Verbal warning issued for Driving Too Close.

20:58 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Mile 2 Seward Highway.

21:42 - 911 misdial received from subject in the Forest Acres Campground and all was fine.

22:12 - Individual reported that his daughter had run away. Juvenile was located.

23:48 - Verbal warning for Driving With Lights Off issued at Mile 2 Seward Highway.

June 28

00:40 - Verbal warning issued of Improperly Displayed Tabs at Mile 1 Lowell Point Road.

01:10 - Citation for Parked On Bike Path issued to Donald Witsoe at Bear and Swetmann.

01:46 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Seward Highway and Resurrection.

07:58 - Parking warning issued at Third and Adams.

12:04 - SAST advised that there was a large bolder in the northbound lane at Mile 3 Nash Road. Public works notified and would take care of it.

12:15 - Individual reported his medication and $210 was stolen from his residence at Bayview Apartments.

13:09 - Seward Mountain Haven advised that they would do fire drill at Raven Lodge and the commons.

15:01 - Individual reported two 6- or 7-year-old boys were riding in a wagon down Dora Way. Officer was unable to locate.

15:40 - Individual took to SPD a black wallet that was found in the Stoney Creek area.

15:58 - Citation for Speed issued to Susanne Szabo at Seward Highway and Sea Lion.

16:00 - Verbal warning for Tinted Windows issued at Seward Highway and Levee Road.

18:07 - Individual requested assistance for his 22-foot Bayliner, Hottub, that was dead in the water east of Lowell Point. Information passed on to the USCG and issued phone numbers that could possibly provide a tow into the harbor.

1928 - Abandoned vehicle notice issued to a vehicle that appeared abandoned on Levee Road.

20:35 - Three parking warnings for Parking Over The Fog Line and Obstructing Traffic issued on Railway in front of Alaska SeaLife Center.

22:48 - 911 caller reported a possible drunk driver near Third and Madison. Reporting party stated the male and female were in a champagne colored Buick peeling out and switched drivers in the alley. SAST located vehicle near Hemlock and arrested Sara Talamantes for DUI.
