June 9

12:37 - Officer transported a female to her campsite at Miller’s Landing on Lowell Point.

13:06 - Verbal warning for Improper Use Of Lane issued at Seward Highway and Airport Road.

13:18 - 911 caller requested medical attention to Bayside Apartments for a female who was in respiratory arrest. Female took the phone, and stated she did not want an ambulance and refused any treatment/help. Advised if conditions get worse to call back.

14:05 - 911 misdial. Callback revealed it was a pocket dial and all was fine.

16:22 - 911 abandoned called from a cell phone. Unable to call back.

18:55 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Seward Highway and Sea Lion.

19:04 - Written warning for Double Parking issued at Fourth and Adams.

19:46 - Verbal warning for Speed issued on Fourth at the Holiday Inn.

19:56 - Verbal warning for Speed issued on Seward Highway at Seward Chamber of Commerce.

20:22 - Verbal warning for Failure To Come To Complete Stop At Stop Sign issued at Seward Highway and Port Avenue.

21:07 - SAST requested assistance for three males fighting at Mile 1 Exit Glacier Road.

21:33 - Individual reported an elderly male pushing a stroller down Fourth at Jefferson.

22:33 - SAST requested assistance for a fight in progress on Eagle Lane.

23:12 - Individual reported loud music in the campground by the new playground.

23:17 - Verbal warning issued to six youth at the skate park.

23:34 - Individual reported a young calf moose running down Third headed toward Fourth.

June 10

00:20 - Loud music reported at the waterfront campground. Officers were unable to locate.

01:28 - Officer reported seeing two black bears in the area of Dora Way.

02:14 - Citations for Failure To Carry Registration and Failure To Carry Proof Of Insurance issued to Viktor Afonenko who was pulling a boat trailer on Seward Highway next to the Air Force Rec Camp. Verbal warning issued for No Trailer Lights.

06:06 - Ambulance requested for a 54-year-old female who fell and might have broken a leg.

10:01 - A bear sow and two cubs reported to be getting into trash on Dimond Boulevard. Officer issued a trash warning.

17:56 - AST reported a vehicle all over the road headed into city limits. AST contacted the vehicle on Fourth at the Breeze Inn.

19:51 - 911 call about a audible fire alarm at Glacier View Apartments.

19:57 - Caller from Timberline Drive reported that a squirrel was on the line and the transformer blew. He was out of power.

23:45 - Individual reported an intoxicated female in an Airstream was hollering at waterfront campground.

June 11

04:27 - SAST requested an SPD officer to assist with an intoxicated male across from the Pit Bar. He was belligerent and crawling under the bridge putting himself in harm’s way. Officer responded.

04:54 - Individual reported that his ex-girlfriend was banging on his door and would not leave. Officer responded. Female was just trying to see her son. All was OK. Officer provided transportation back to her residence.

05:17 - PSMC ER requested officer assistance getting an uncontrollable patient onto a gurney. Officer responded.

08:13 - SVFD issued a burn permit to Alaska Waste at 3200 Dimond. Permit valid for June 12 and 13.

08:46 - SVFD issued a burn permit to a residence in the 1900 block of Dora Way. Permit valid for June 12 and 13.

09:17 - 911 misdial/pocket dial. All sounded OK in background.

09:51 - Individual with Yukon Fire Protection advised he would be working on the fire systems at the railroad cruise ship terminal. At 11:21 SPD was advised that work was done at the terminal and he would then work on the systems at Safeway.

11:30 - Individual from F/V Hungary Raven requested an ambulance to F Float for a 70-year-old male.

11:43 - Borough maintenance advised that they would be testing fire alarm systems at Seward High School and then the elementary school after lunch.

13:35 - Report of a man down at the intersection of Seward Highway and Sea Lion. Officer responded. Individual refused treatment and would go to hospital with his family.

16:23 - Individual reported her vehicle was hit and damaged in the parking lot of the culinary academy. Kayla Gore cited for Failure To Report An Accident and No Liability Insurance.

16:48 - 911 call from Fourth. On callback, phone was a FAX, with two females in background.

17:05 - Alaska SeaLife Center reported a missing child. Child was located.

17:12 - Best Western reported that guests complained about dogs barking next door. Officer spoke with dogs’ owner and informed him to try to keep the dogs quiet.

17:14 - Burn permit issued for location in the 1900 block of Dora Way for June 11 and 12.

17:55 - Warning for Improper Parking issued for vehicle parked on the bike path on Port Avenue near NAPA parking lot.

19:00 - 911 hangup call from a cell phone. Unable to call back.

19:30 - Caller reported he had no electric going to his meter in the 32100 block of Seward Highway.

21:17 - PSMC requested medics to pick up crew from airport and transport for patient pick up.

21:32 - Verbal warning for Failure To Stop At A Stop Sign issued.

June 12

00:21 - Report of that a man in a truck was being attacked on Lowell Canyon Road. Reporting party believed it to be a bear or a dog. Officers responded. All was OK and the male was unharmed. No animals were in the area.

04:14 - Ambulance requested to Mile 39 Seward Highway for a motor vehicle accident. SVAC and MPFD responded.

07:00 - Citation for Failure To Stop At A Stop Sign issued to Peter Drake on Lowell Point Road near the waterfall.

09:00 - Frontier Fire advised that they would be testing the fire alarms for University of Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska SeaLife Center.

09:06 - Borough maintenance advised that they would be testing the fire alarms at Alaska Waste.

13:40 - Citation for Failure To Stop At A Stop Sign issued to Michael Sonju next to AVTEC Applied Technology Building. Verbal warning for Expired Registration also issued.

13:58 - Individual reported at a $500 necklace was stolen from a display case at The Summer Breeze.

16:52 - Verbal warning issued for Turning In The Middle of The Intersection.

17:47 - Individual reported seeing a couple youth playing at the base of Lowell Canyon. One child was yelling for help like they were afraid. Parent was called to pick up the child.

20:02 - Individual reported an intoxicated female on the ground and male trying to pick her up on Third by Liberty Theater.

20:54 - SAST reported a blue F150 pulling a U-Haul passed in construction zone.

22:02 - Citation for Failure To Carry Proof Of Insurance issued to Rae Lacrosse at Third and Jefferson. Verbal warning for Speed also issued.

22:33 - 911 alarm from Safeway due to a cart being pushed into the button on the elevator.

June 13

08:54 - Officer requested for an intoxicated male minor. Officer responded and was unable to contact the suspect at AVTEC Dorms or the Applied Technology Building. Possible location somewhere on Exit Glacier Road. SAST advised.

09:03 - Individual requested that officers pass a message on to a subject. Officer went to last known address and was unable to contact subject. Reporting party was advised that officers were unable to locate.

12:06 - Safeway reported that someone took a bottle of vodka from the liquor store. Officer responded.

13:18 - SVFD issued a burn permit to a residence in the 2500 block of Dimond. Permit is valid the day only.

13:50 - Borough maintenance advised that they would be testing fire alarms at Seward Elementary.

14:35 - Children were reported to be harassing birds in nests at the playground on Ballaine. Officer contacted three juveniles and advised them to not harass the wildlife further.

15:50 - Verbal warning for issued Obstructing Traffic on Fifth.

16:12 - Verbal warning for Illegal Lane Usage issued at Seward Highway and Spenard Builders Supply.

16:33 - Citation for Seatbelt issued to Jesse Smith at Fourth and B. Verbal warnings issued for No Energy Absorption Device, Anti-Spray Device and Brake Light.

19:10 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Seward Highway and Sea Lion.

20:39 - Safeway requested an officer for three people sitting near the loading dock while drinking and smoking. Officer advised them of Safeway’s concerns and they went on their way.

22:29 - 911 abandoned call from Army Rec Camp was determined to be an accidental call.

June 14

00:15 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Third and Van Buren.

07:38 - Borough maintenance advised that they would be testing the fire alarm systems at Seward Elementary School.

11:00 - Individual from Alaska SeaLife Center reported they found a light blue 15-speed women’s Magna bike.

11:04 - 911 hangup call. On callback everything sounded OK.

11:55 - Individual requested a welfare check at Pacific Park Apartments. Officer responded and all was OK.

14:01 - 911 caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Fourth and Madison. Officer responded and contacted the two drivers.

15:01 - Kenai district attorney advised that their fax was going to be out of service until June 19. If anything needed to be sent, it could be e-mailed.

15:02 - Individual took items in to SPD that were found at the Fish House.

16:39 - Off duty officer reported a van at Wells Fargo that was running with children inside. Officer made contact with subject at Wells Fargo and subject agreed not to do it again.

16:56 - Individual reported a vehicle she thought was squatting on Oak Street. Officer made contact and registered owner agreed to move on.

17:15 - Individual requested an officer to Christo’s for an employee who was being disorderly and inebriated. Officer made contact with the subject and did a civil stand-by while he packed his bags. Officer provided transport to Hotel Seward and gave trespass warning from Christo’s.

June 15

09:17 - 911 misdial. Callback revealed that all was OK.

09:18 - Ambulance requested to cruise ship terminal to the Radiance of the Sea for a 20-year-old male with hypothermia.

10:43 - 911 fire alarm went off at Railway. Reporting party reported that there was no fire but did not know how to turn alarm off. SVFD notified and alarm panel reset.

14:15 - Anchorage Police Dispatch requested a welfare check on person on Second. Officer responded and was unable to locate.

16:00 - Individual reported that her granddaughter was receiving annoying text messages. Officer contacted involved parties.

17:59 - 911 pocket dial from Icicle Seafoods and caller stated everything was fine.

18:11 - Individual reported a man passed out in the Harbormaster bathrooms. Officer made contact with the subject and provided him transportation to the RBS bunkhouse.

18:14 - Smoke reported near the dump area. No burn permits were issued per the fire officer and he was going to look into source. SVFD was dispatched.

19:16 - Verbal warning for Erratic Driving at Safeway parking lot.

19:29 - 911 abandoned call from Chamberlain Road and callback revealed all was fine.

19:34 - Individual requested an officer to the Air Force Rec Camp for a possible motor vehicle accident. Officer spoke with subject about damage done to his vehicle.

June 16

00:39 - Chevron clerk called and said two females were in the store and requested an officer. He did not know why. After officers arrived, they realized that it was a misunderstanding. The girls wanted a cab.

01:01 - Off duty SPD officer noticed a large burn at the Old Mill Subdivision. Due to the size of the fire, BCVFD was notified and asked to check it out. The fire was manned and well contained. All OK and the would be out during the night.

05:38 - Individual advised of a lot of noise coming from the playground area. Officers responded and advised the people on the site of the quiet hours and they agreed to leave.

10:11 - Ambulance requested to the Post Office for a 73-year-old male. SVAC/SVFD dispatched.

14:23 - Verbal warnings for Speed and Obscured Window issued on Seward Highway by Safeway.

14:42 - Individual reported a dirt bike making a lot of noise going up and down Dimond Boulevard. Officer gave the subject a verbal warning for driving an off-road vehicle on the street.

16:30 - Call about a possible fire at Mile 38, Devil’s Creek Trail.

17:07 - Motor vehicle accident at N entrance of Resurrection Campgrounds.

17:36 - Motor vehicle accident in Safeway parking lot.

21:03 - Individual reported a carbon monoxide detector going off at the Smoke Shack. Cause appeared to be a bad detector.

23:26 - Individual reported an intoxicated male headed toward the river at McDonald’s Landing. Garrett Steigleman and Adam Steigleman arrested for MICS VI and transported to SCJ.

23:35 - Noise complaint about youth at the skateboard park.

June 17

01:39 - Individual advised she lives behind Safeway and was unhappy with the noise from the sweeper. An officer responded but no one was there when he arrived.

02:12 - Individual advised that a vehicle was swerving through the lanes coming into town. Officer contacted the vehicle and driver. Driver was not intoxicated. She had steering issues with the vehicle.

02:18 - Individual advised that a dog was barking loudly on Fifth. Officer located the residence, made contact with the owner, and they agreed to bring the dog inside.

05:49 - Individual reported that his grandson went for a walk at around 9 or 10 p.m. the previous evening and had not returned. Later the grandson answered a phone call from the officer. He was advised to contact his grandfather.

11:09 - 911 misdial from Bayside Apartments and callback revealed all was fine and it was a pocket dial.

11:14 - Individual turned in a wallet he found near SBS on the bike path.

12:20 - Motor vehicle accident, with no injuries, reported at the cruise ship terminal. Officer arrived and both parties had already exchanged information with minor damage to vehicles.

15:41 - Verbal warning for Speed issued at Seward and Aspen

15:47 - ACO called to report a sow and two cubs at the water tower on Dora Way. Bears were just being bears.

16:10 - Individual reported a male wearing blue jeans and hat on backwards walking down Seward Highway at Hemlock making obscene gestures. Subject was given ride to KFT Bunkhouse.

16:45 - Individual reported her home on Dora Way was broken in to. Possibly between June 13-15.

18:03 - Individual advised his sister had not answered her phone in two weeks. Requested welfare check.

18:30 - SAST requested a call out for a vehicle roll over at Mile 21.5 Seward Highway.

22:36 - 911, SVFD/SVAC called out for a fire at T Dock. Fire was caused by a grill.

23:03 - 911 call about three individuals who went hiking that morning and were stuck on a mountain, and unsure of location.

23:32 - Individual reported that people in Williams City Park were making noise playing a guitar. Manager had been made aware and done nothing.
