Barnett featured at library event
Mac Barnett, author of popular children’s books will read from his books, draw (badly), give away all his secrets, and answer questions from the audience at the A Million Laughs or Your Money Back! event at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Seward Community Library, 238 Fifth. Topics covered may include whales, mustaches, sleuthing, the Bermuda Triangle, Bigfoot, sweaters and medieval Icelandic poetry. Contact the library at 224-4082 for information.
Anchorage trip planned
The next TRAILS trip to Anchorage for recreation and shopping is set for June 27. For information contact the Independent Living Center at 224-8711.
Walk-in clinic offered
Seward Public Health Center has a walk in clinic from 9 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m. on June 26. Appointments are also available. The center is at 201 Third, Suite 202. For information call 224-5567.
Canner gauge test offered

Veterans retreat planned
Alaska Veterans Organization for Women is sponsoring a wilderness retreat for women veterans from Aug. 24-29 near Homer. The focus of the retreat includes wellness activities and creating community for women veterans.
Women veterans who have served in areas of combat and current era veterans have priority. The retreat is free to women veterans but transportation costs are not included. For information contact Vanessa at 907-306-2367 or alaskawomenvets@gmail.com.
