Halibut bycatch limits reduced
Halibut bycatch limits will be reduced in the Gulf of Alaska after a 10-1 vote North Pacific Fishery Management Council last week, according to The Cordova Times. The 15 percent reduction in bycatch limit for for the trawl, and hook and line catcher vessel fleet will be phased in over three years and freezer-longline catcher processor boats will see a 7 percent reduction.
