Bike Rodeo thank you

Letter to the editor

Seward Parks & Rec coordinated the Terry’s Tires Bike Rodeo Sat, May 12. Our department would like to thank everyone who helped with the annual Bike Safety Rodeo. With the help of volunteers and contributors the rodeo was another fun community event.

Thank you to our title sponsor Terry’s Tires and to Shoreside Petroleum, our Helmet Junction sponsor. Both of these businesses gave very generous donations to make this event possible.

And our newest sponsor, Inlet Petroleum who donated two brand new girl’s and boy’s bicycles purchased through the Seward Bike Shop and provided event bibs to each participant. We appreciate you giving to this as well as so many other community programs.

We also want to thank all the other groups and individuals who give of their time, talents and supplies to help us host the Bike Safety Rodeo each year. Thank you to Stylin’ Stitches, Seward Police Department, Seward Bike Shop, Three Bears, Providence and Seaview Community Services.

Special thanks to Tim Morrow, Jamie Thornton and Karl Metchenberg for showing up to provide the much loved obstacle course.

A big thank you to the TYC Youth Council members for helping work all the stations.

Congratulations to Chris Kingsland who was the winner of the T-shirt design. Look for his artwork on over 100 T-shirts around town this summer. Nice job Chris!

Eighty-seven kids along with their parents participated in this much loved event.

Appreciations to everyone for making this another successful event that continues to improve and grow every year thanks to you!

Here’s to a fun and safe summer of biking! Please remember to wear those helmets!
