Adventurers cross Harding Icefield

This photo was passed down to me from park ranger who knew someone in the party of folks that made the first recorded crossing of the Harding Icefield.
“In the spring of 1968, the first documented mountaineering party succeeded in crossing the Harding Icefield. The expedition left Homer on April 17, bound for Chernof Glacier; eight days later, they descended a glacier they appropriately named Exit Glacier and arrived in Seward. Vin Hoeman (with bunny boots in the summer, yikes!) his wife Grace Hoeman. Bill Babcock is the one yawning and Yule Kilcher is left of Bill. The other members are unidentifiable by me.
“Was the state flag intentionally place in the room for the photo, odd location?
