Racquet Scientists top Ms. Gene’s Racquetball Tourney

Four teams battled on the courts April 14 in the third annual Ms. Gene’s Double Trouble Racquetball tournament. The tourney was played in a round robin, single elimination format.
Team Racquet Scientists (Tim Shearer and Melanie Hauze) took first place by playing undefeated in the event. The Racquet Scientists took a hard fought three-game match against Team Rocky and Bullwinkle (Fred Georges and Jennilee Regis) by just one point.
Team Rocky and Bullwinkle took second place. Team We Be Jammin’ (Devin Putney and Jami Fredrickson) won third. Team Serves you Right (Robin Collman and Jen Kain) came in fourth and were named the most valuable players in the tourney.
Ms. Gene’s Place sponsored the tourney with Alaska SeaLife Center donating the tickets and AARA donated racquetballs. Gearbox Racquetball contributed wristbands, headbands and a new racquet which Jen Kain won in the drawing.
