Robert Bruce Facer
Robert Bruce Facer, who many knew as Spaceman Bruce, passed away on April 15, 2012 in Monterey, Calif. from a heart ailment. He was 65 years old.
Bruce lived in Seward from 1975 until 1989.
He lived an outdoor life, hunting and fishing. He swam daily in Resurrection Bay. Bruce received acceptance from many people in Seward.
Bruce left Seward and headed south on a kayak. He stopped in many places over the next 20 years including Valdez, and towns along the way to Santa Cruz, Calif. where he lived the past four years.
