Ice formed on the promenade deck of the S.S. Denali in January 1952 while en route from Seward to Seattle. The Denali was built in 1927 and purchased by the Alaska Steamship Company in 1938. It was sold in 1954 and scrapped in 1960. It was the second Alaska Steamship vessel to be named Denali. The first one was purchased in 1925 and wrecked in 1935. Barbara Shea donated this photo to Resurrection Bay Historical Society.
