Seward Highway reopensPublished on March 9th, 2010 By SEWARD PHOENIX LOG STAFF The portion of the Seward Highway closed from mile post 38 to Girdwood mile post 90 due to avalanche activity reopened today at about 4:15 p.m., according to the Alaska Department of Transportation. The first avalanche occurred around 7 a.m. at mile post 98.5 of the Seward Highway, according to DOT spokesperson Ricky Feller.
