Man accused of file sharing child porn from coffee standPublished on March 10th, 2010 By SEWARD PHOENIX LOG STAFF A Palmer man was arrested Tuesday on accusations he downloaded and distributed child pornography images and movies while working at a Palmer coffee stand, according to an Alaska State Trooper report. Roland Goossen, 26, of Palmer was charged with possession of child pornography, distributing child pornography and second-degree failure to register as a sex offender. The investigation began in January when members of the Alaska State Troopers Technical Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an online undercover investigation for suspects in Alaska who were file sharing child sexual abuse images and movies. An IP address, which was sharing dozens of files of child pornography, was identified in Palmer. Investigators were able to download images from a computer located at this particular IP address. Investigation revealed this IP address was associated with Custom Coffee, which is a drive up coffee stand located on the Glenn Highway just outside of Palmer. On March 2, investigators from the Alaska Bureau of Investigation and special agents from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement served a search warrant at Custom Coffee. Goossen, who co-owns Custom Coffee, was contacted inside the coffee stand. His computer was seized and a forensic computer examination was conducted. His computer was found to contain many images and movies of child pornography, as well as file sharing software. Goossen is also a non-compliant registered sex offender. A Palmer Judge increased Goossen's bail from the original $15,000 to $50,000 at arraignment in the Palmer District Court yesterday. The Palmer District Attorney's Office is prosecuting this case.
