Congratulations to the Seward Silvers ski team, who put in a strong effort at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Middle School Ski Championships at Nikiski Middle-High School last weekend. The skies were sunny, the temperatures in the low 20s and the trail conditions good.

Seventh-grader Josephine Braun finished 19th in the 4-kilometer freestyle girls meet, crossing the finish line with a time of 21:04.

Michael Marshall came in 15th for the boys, followed close behind by Jack Broughton in 17th.
